+ADD and +REPAIR
+REPAIR is a service that mends damaged clothes. Each garment lives with its owner through the ups and downs of life. Each garment tells a story. But what do you do when your favorite item starts tearing? This is where +REPAIR ties in. Instead of an ordinary mending service, +REPAIR repairs the damage and points explicitly to the area that was repaired or improved and enhances it with documentation and a logo. It’s not just a repair but a new eco-friendly second life.
In addition there is +ADD. Does your favorite garment lack a hood, a pocket or something else? +ADD can change that and add a new element to the garment. And of course the logo will be added to detail the alteration process. By repairing the garments in a sustainable way or adding a missing function we create a wearable updated piece.
This project was distinguished by the Centre for Sustainable Fashion at London College of Fashion with the Fashioning the Future Award 2011 in the category unique communication.
+REPAIR ist ein Service, der beschädigte Kleidung repariert. Jedes Kleidungsstück durchlebt mit seinem Besitzer die Höhen und Tiefen des Lebens. Jedes Kleidungsstück erzählt eine Geschichte. Aber was macht man, wenn das Lieblingsstück reißt? An dieser Stelle setzt +REPAIR an. Statt eines gewöhnlichen Flickdienstes repariert +REPAIR den Schaden und weist explizit auf die Stelle hin, die repariert oder verbessert wurde, und wertet sie mit einer Dokumentation und einem Logo auf. Es ist nicht nur eine Reparatur, sondern ein neues, umweltfreundliches zweites Leben.
Darüber hinaus gibt es +ADD. Fehlt Ihrem Lieblingskleidungsstück eine Kapuze, eine Tasche oder etwas anderes? +ADD kann das ändern und dem Kleidungsstück ein neues Element hinzufügen. Und natürlich wird das Logo hinzugefügt, um den Veränderungsprozess zu verdeutlichen. Indem wir die Kleidungsstücke auf nachhaltige Weise reparieren oder eine fehlende Funktion hinzufügen, schaffen wir ein tragbares, aktualisiertes Kleidungsstück.
Dieses Projekt wurde vom Centre for Sustainable Fashion am London College of Fashion mit dem Fashioning the Future Award 2011 in der Kategorie unique communication ausgezeichnet.
